Brother can you spare.......

Matthew 6: 12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

There is an old saying, to err is human, to forgive divine. I don't know where it originated from, but it is true. Only the blood of our precious Lord and Savior could wash us clean, and only by His divine power can we truly forgive others as we have been forgiven.

Luke 6: 37 “Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.
These are together, I believe, because they are interrelated. To withhold forgiveness is to judge and condemn that someone is unworthy of what you possess; the forgiveness of God. we are freely forgiven, paid for by the blood of Jesus, and we must freely forgive all who request it.

Matt 6:14 “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
We can’t live in the forgiveness of God if we do not forgive. We must carry the burden of another’s’ sin while we live in unforgiveness. When we forgive, we are set free from the pain and results of sin; which is death. We are free to live in resurrection life when we realize, It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me (Gal 2:20). The offense is to Him, not I.

Matthew 6: 12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
How have we been forgiven? Completely, by the blood of the Lamb. Psalm 103:11-12 says, For as the heavens are high above the earth, So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him;
As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us.

I forgive the same way I am forgiven, by grace, through faith; I choose and let God do the rest. He, the only innocent One, has forgiven me completely and without reservation. He has set the standard, and in order for me to enjoy it, I must do the same.

Jeremiah 17:9 “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it?
I think perhaps we can only desire to completely forgive when we realize what we have been forgiven from. When we see our own condition from God’s perspective, we realize how much we need this type of forgiveness, and we can see others as being in the same need.

I Corinthians 13:4-8A
4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
8 Love never fails….

Just as God desires us to love Him with His own perfect Agape Love, we can forgive with the power of God’s forgiveness through the resurrection life He has planted in us by His incorruptible seed. In His love we can suffer long, think no evil; rejoice in the truth of God’s forgiveness. All it takes is the almighty power of the living God, and my assent.
