Psalm 23.1-2
A Psalm of David.
1 The LORD is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
Here we are compared to sheep; our needs all being met beautifully by our Shepherd, Jesus.
John 4:10

Jeremiah 2:12-13
Be astonished, O heavens, at this,
And be horribly afraid;
Be very desolate,” says the LORD.
13 “ For My people have committed two evils:
They have forsaken Me, the fountain of living waters,
And hewn themselves cisterns—broken cisterns that can hold no water."

Augustine wrote, “O God, Thou hast made us for Thyself and our souls are restless, searching, ‘til they find their rest in Thee.
Sheep can live for weeks without a body of water close by drinking the dew on the grass before the sun comes up and it evaporates.
How long have you gone without the refreshment?
How long have you gone without the refreshment?
“The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.
Revelation 22.17
